Labrador Training - When To Start

The Labrador Retriever is the most popular breed in the world. They are considered very gentle, intelligent, and energetic. The lab tends to make a great family dog as well as a working dog. They are very loyal and great for kids but can also be trained for hunting and seeing guide dogs. With the proper training the Labrador Retriever can be very obedient and dependable.

Labrador training can be a very fun and exciting experience for you and your puppy. If done correctly you will develop a wonderful bond with you dog and have a very well behaved dog.

A good time to start training your Labrador Retriever puppy is when they are about 2-3 months old. During this time you can start with basic commands. First start with negative commands like ‘No’ or ‘Stop That’. Also try to work in some praise such as “Good Doggie” or ‘Yay”. This will get your puppy started on the right foot.
